Dr. Trotter's Welcome Back Letter
It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you and your student(s) to the 2010-2011 school year at Whittier Elementary. I hope that your summer has been filled with fun family activities enjoyed at a leisurely pace under beautiful, blue skies filled with sunshine. How quickly summer concludes and our thoughts turn to eagerly preparing for the commencement of another school year. As the new principal, I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to introduce myself to the parents and students of Whittier.
I am also excited about joining your students as Whittier’s Principal. I want to reassure you that I will work to continue the longstanding success and accomplishment that Whittier students have achieved for many years. There will be changes, and that is understandable with new leadership, but you can expect consistent and fair treatment of your student at all times by myself and the faculty. We will expect the very best of your student, and will demand a high level of commitment from them as well.
Our Open House is on Wednesday, September 8 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. The intent of the open house is to allow children accompanied by parents to quickly find their classroom and meet their teachers. Students and families may then meet the members of the PTA and receive information to acquaint themselves with PTA, fundraising activities, volunteer opportunities, etc.
The staff and I eagerly await welcoming you to another wonderful school year and look forward to seeing families and students very soon.
