Welcome to the New School Year!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back!  We hope you all had a fine vacation and are looking forward with enthusiasm to the new school year.  A special welcome to our many new families; please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your transition a smooth one.

Our goal is to provide all students with the opportunity to excel in academics, athletics, and fine arts so that they may become positive, contributing members of our school and community.

Our Open House is scheduled for Thursday, September 9th at 6:30P.M.  Each teacher or grade level will give a short talk about the curriculum, daily procedures in their classroom and demonstrate a brief reading strategy.  Time will be given for families with more than one student to visit other classrooms.  The Physical Education, Computer and Art teachers will visit the classrooms.

There are many parents who attend and want to meet the classroom teacher, please do not expect to conference with your child’s teacher on this evening.  If you need to discuss your child’s progress or have specific concerns, please make an appointment with your child’s teacher or arrange for a phone conference.   If you have any other concerns, please call the office and we will try to help or answer your questions.

A few reminders for everyone concerning morning drop-off and end of the day pick-up:

  • Students are not to arrive before 8:40 A.M. no supervision is available before this time.
  • When students are crossing St. Charles Road or Wolf Road, for their safety, please have them cross by the crossing guard.
  • Students who walk home are to exit by their grade levels assigned exit door.  They may pick-up younger siblings by walking along the sidewalk to the correct exit.  Walkers are dismissed at 3:30 P.M.
  • Students who are picked-up by car are dismissed at 3:30 P.M.  They exit the building via the gym door.  Teachers are there to assist and will direct cars where to go.
  • For security and safety, we ask that all parents stop to get a visitor’s pass when in the building.  We need this to happen even if you are only stopping for just a brief moment.  We want all of our children and staff members to be safe and secure and this is our way of helping to ensure this.

We look forward to working with you this school year. Let’s make it the best one ever!

Thank you for your help and consideration in following our rules and policies.  Please call the office with any concerns you might have.
