HOMEWORK POLICY

MRS. KALINOWICZ'S CLASSROOM HOMEWORK POLICY
Homework assignments should be completed to the best of the student's ability on the day that they are due. Homework assignments are assigned for a variety of purposes including: additional practice of new skills taught, additional practice of previous skills taught, skill/concept review or assessment. Homework will vary by day in Language Arts, but students should always have something to do (such as study spelling words, study vocabulary words and read their library book) each night. Homework should be listed in the student's assignment notebook to ensure that it is completed as needed. Homework counts for 10% of a students final grade.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS/FAMILIES

READING:  Book 1

Your child should be reading every night. This can take place in a variety of ways: independently read their library book, read out loud to a parent/guardian, read a picture book to a younger sibling or family member, read a magazine, read the newspaper, etc. There is a wealth of information and material out there just waiting to be discovered.

Book reports are completed monthly to show understanding of the material students are reading and to apply the reading skills & concepts taught in class.

This month's book report:
