HOMEWORK POLICY

| MRS. KALINOWICZ'S CLASSROOM HOMEWORK POLICY |
| Homework assignments should be completed to the best of the student's ability on the day that they are due. Homework assignments are assigned for a variety of purposes including: additional practice of new skills taught, additional practice of previous skills taught, skill/concept review or assessment. Homework will vary by day in Language Arts, but students should always have something to do (such as study spelling words, study vocabulary words and read their library book) each night. Homework should be listed in the student's assignment notebook to ensure that it is completed as needed. Homework counts for 10% of a students final grade. |

In 100a we follow the District 87 Rules of Conduct: * Follow directions when given. * Stay on task; work quietly. * Keep hands, feet and objects away from others. * Come prepared for class. * Respect yourself, others and everyone's property.
The students in 100a are also expected to abide by and follow the " 4 Ps" PROMPT (arrive to school, class, lunch, after school programs, etc. on time) PREPARED (bring all needed materials to class, lunch, clubs etc.) PAY ATTENTION (to teachers, staff & friends...after all, you are here to learn) POSITIVE (always have that positive attitude...you CAN do it!) PERSEVERANCE (go for your goals, never give up)
Students showing the ability to follow the classroom rules and the 4 Ps will earn WILDCAT WAY tickets for the classroom ticket drawing each week. Students also earn WILDCAT WAY points by working together as a class, once 45 points are earned, free time is earned. |
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS/FAMILIES

|
READING: Your child should be reading every night. This can take place in a variety of ways: independently read their library book, read out loud to a parent/guardian, read a picture book to a younger sibling or family member, read a magazine, read the newspaper, etc. There is a wealth of information and material out there just waiting to be discovered. Book reports are completed monthly to show understanding of the material students are reading and to apply the reading skills & concepts taught in class.
This month's book report: Black History Month Poster Due February 24th
