Important Messages:

This week students will be starting a reading program . This program is called accelerated reader also known as AR. Students will check out books from the library that are on their reading level. They will read these books and after they have completed the book, they will take a short quiz. These quizzes will not count towards their grades, but their classroom and individual goals. I think this is a great program that promotes more reading for students. Please let me know if you have any questions about the program.

Skill for the week in Reading:  Skills: Students will be back to taking a selection test this week. We are so excited to keep practicing our skills. This week's story is St. Matthews Island and the skill is using drawing conclusions. We are going to use drawing conclusions to help us better understand our story. We are hoping to get at least a 90% average! We can do it!!! Currently, we are at 94%, but not everyone has completed the test.

Last week's class average for Reading Street: All students haven't taken their selection test. The students that have taken the test are doing a great job. Our story for this week is Sweet Music in Harlem. Our last story of the year! Awesome Job 201!, you have been doing a great job. We ended the year great with our last story. We got a 96% average on our story. Excellent job!
