Reading:
We have finished our letters of the week and will work on putting those letters together to make our alphabet books to keep at home. The children will work on reading words with different vowel sounds in the middle. We are listening and blending sounds in words and focusing on the sounds that the vowels make. We are working on beginning and ending sound blends with "sh", "ch", and "th". We will also work on writing sentences with beginning capitalization and the correct ending mark.
Math: We will take the unit test on Monday. We will begin our next and last unit on numbers through 100 and number patterns. We have also been practicing and reviewing patterns together daily.
Special Programs: "Star of the Week" Each child will have a turn to be our star. They get to make a poster reflecting their interests, bring in a special story for the class and bring a special show and tell.
"Take-Home Lunchboxes" Borrowing lunchboxes are sent home to use for 3 days. All items should be returned inside the Lunchbox and returned back to school. Student of the Month A student is selected who represents the qualities of our Character Counts Pillar.
Take- Home BACK PACKS The students will take home an interactive backpack to keep and use for 3 days. Please use the backpack with your child and return all the pieces in the backpack in 3 days. These backpacks are meant to be done with a family member. The children will take turns bringing home the backpacks. .
