We believe that homework is an important part of the school curriculum and must be done on a regular basis in order for children to grow and learn. Every student will be receiving approximately 20 minutes of homework each school night in addition to 30 minutes of reading. Work is expected to be done the next day unless there are EXTREME circumstances and the parent/guardian has written a note explaining what happened. If this does happen, the child is expected to turn in the homework within one school day. The student will receive a grade of âzeroâ in the grade book until the homework is turned in. Homework that you might see in your childâs folder:

CLASSROOM POLICY As a class, we have discussed the rules that we will follow. They are as follows: 1. Follow directions when given. 2. Stay on task; work quietly. 3. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. 4. Come prepared for class. 5. Respect yourself, others, and everyone's property.
I will be using a color-cubed system to keep track of when as student breaks a rule. The students will start each day with no cubes on their desks. When a rule is broken, the following will happen: 1st time: verbal warning Severe Disruption: Students will immediately be sent to the principal and the parent will be notified. Continual inappropriate behavior will result in earlier parental notification and a possible conference. Positive Recognition: Students who behave appropriately will be rewarded with special privileges, praise, positive notes, stickers, free time, and/or special class activities. |
