BERKELEY 87 HOMEWORK PROGRAM

HOMEWORK GUIDELINES

Students will receive approximately thirty minutes of homework each night.  In most cases, the assignment will be something already started during school that your child was unable to finish in the time allowed. Students will write the homework in their assignment books at the end of the school day.  Parents can sign or initial the notebook when the homework is completed each evening.  Feel free to write down any concerns you may have about the homework in the assignment notebook.  I will respond with a note or contact you by phone.  Any missing assignments will be completed during our recess time.  Students who are absent will be responsible for making up any missed work.  If notified early in the day, I can have homework assignments ready for you to pick up by 3:00.

HOMEWORK TIPS

  •  Have a set time each day for completing homework.
  •  If necessary, help your child understand directions.
  • Make sure your child has any necessary supplies at home-pencils, extra paper, scissors, etc.
  • Review completed homework with your child.
  • Praise your child's efforts and progress.
  • Write me a note or call me if your child becomes discouraged and can't complete an assignment.

***Your support and encouragement will directly impact your child's success with homework and school!***
