IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Dear Parents, I'd like to welcome Ms. Wren, our new student teacher. Ms. Wren is finalizing her bachelor degree from DePaul University by completing her student teacher with us. She is a welcome addition to our classroom and I'm sure that the students will profit from an extra person in our room. Our next field trip is to Cernan Space Center located in Triton College. The field trip will be Monday, May 21, but the permission slip and $4.00 admission fee is due Thurs. May 17. Students will observe a show about recent space research and watch a laser light show. We will return before lunchtime, so the lunch will be routine. In order to build responsibility, children at the age of 10 years old should have chores at home. Your child is capable of keeping his/her own room clean and keeping up on personal hygiene with minor reminders. Also, students should have at least one chore for the household and family. Having and carrying out these chores with help build self-esteem and self confidence. As we wind up the school year, students need to continue to focus on school work as grades are still being taken. Please continue to support your child in homework activities. As a fourth grade team, Ms. Fregoso, Mrs. Stefani, Mr. Samp and I work closely together to provide a variety of experiences and learning activities to enhance our curriculum.
