What to Practice

FOR THE WEEK OF May 21st

Monday
Go to the library and get a book about the theme.
Ask your child to make predictions about the story.
Help your child write their name and the letter of the week.

Tuesday - Thursday

Ask your child to recall the story. Re-read the story.
Review how to read (left to right, top to bottom).
Help your child write their first and last names and the letter of the week and previous letters.
Play a letter game.
Review colors, identifying and describing the shapes.
Review positions (on and off, on top of and under, beside and next to, in front of, behind).
Review AB, AAB, ABB and ABC patterns with objects and on paper.
Review One-to-One Correspondence (one cup and one saucer, one lid and one jar).
Review more, fewer, same with objects.
Review counting 0-100, recognizing and writing numerals and matching objects to numerals. Review comparing objects based on length (long/short, tall/short), size (big, bigger, biggest), weight (light and heavy) and parts of the day (what your child does in the morning, afternoon and night).
Review parts of a graph chart (columns and rows).
Create object and picture graphs.

Friday
Practice name writing.
Play a letter game.
Review math concepts.
Draw a picture about the theme.
