What to Practice

FOR THE WEEK OF February 6th

Monday
Go to the library and get a book about the theme.
Ask your child to make predictions about the story.
Help your child write their name and the letter of the week.

Tuesday - Thursday
Ask your child to recall the story. Re-read the story.
Review how to read (left to right, top to bottom).
Help your child write their first and last names and the letter of the week and previous letters.
Play a letter game.
Review colors, identifying and describing the shapes.
Review positions (on and off, on top of and under, beside and next to, in front of, behind).
Review AB, AAB, ABB and ABC patterns with objects and on paper. Review One-to-One Correspondence (one cup and one saucer, one lid and one jar)

Friday
Practice name writing.
Play a letter game.
Play a game with beans, pasta, shapes, blocks (using terms more, fewer or the same).
Draw a picture about the theme.
