Enrollment for Students who are Youth in Care( DCFS )
Dr. Spatafore is the DCFS Liaison for District 87. She will facilitate the enrollment and transfer of records of students in the legal custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) when students enroll in our schools.

New Families
New families should click on this “Skyward New Student Online Registration Account Request Link” and complete the new student online registration process for each student who will be attending a District 87 school for the 2024-2025 school year. The entire enrollment process can be completed online.You can also make an appointment with your school office to complete the process in person. Here is the link to the contact information for each school to schedule an appointment.
- Student's birth certificate (Pre-K and Kindergarten students must have an original birth certificate)
- The state requires districts to collect a home language survey for each new student. This information is used to count students whose families speak a language other than English at home. It also helps identify students who need to be assessed for English language proficiency. A home language survey will be completed during the new student online registration process.
- A completed Illinois Transfer Form is required for students enrolling in another IL public school. Students enrolling from a state other than IL will need to provide the transfer form from that state.
All parents/guardians must provide a valid photo ID with a current District 87 address

- Form 1 needs to be completed by All families.
- Form 1 is the only form that will be needed for families who own or rent.
- Parents/Guardians need to complete Form 1 and verify residency by providing items from Category 1, Category II, & Category III.
- This form will be completed online during registration

Special Residency Meeting

- Meeting has to be scheduled for families that live with a 3rd party.
- The property owner/renter needs to be present at residency verification. The property owner/renter needs to complete paperwork and verify residency by providing items from Category I, Category II, & Category III.
